In January 2026, the MOBILETrak team traveled to Taos, New Mexico to complete the implementation of MOBILETrak WMS barcoding and Active RFID beacon tracking for yard assets. During the deployment, our team worked directly with staff to configure the system around their operational processes, provide hands-on training, and deploy RFID technology designed to improve asset visibility.
By combining WMS barcoding with RFID tracking, Kit Carson now has greater real-time visibility and management in both warehouse inventory and outdoor assets. The new system helps reduce manual tracking efforts, improve inventory accuracy, and support faster day-to-day operations across the facility. Weβre excited to continue supporting their team as they expand their use of MOBILETrak solutions.
About Kit Carsonb Electric Coop:
βKit Carson Electric Cooperative (KCEC) is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative that has served Taos, Colfax, and Rio Arriba Counties in New Mexico since 1944. Today, KCEC provides electricity to more than 29,000 members while supporting approximately 125 local families through its operations and subsidiaries. Over the years, KCEC has become a leader in community development and infrastructure innovation throughout northern New Mexico.
In the 1990s, KCEC expanded beyond traditional utility services by introducing propane and internet services, later building more than 2,900 miles of fiber optic infrastructure to provide high-speed internet and phone connectivity. The cooperative also became an early leader in renewable energy initiatives, launching major solar projects beginning in 2002 with the vision of making Taos βThe Solar Capital of the World.β
In partnership with Guzman Energy, KCEC transitioned toward independent renewable energy development and established an ambitious plan to achieve 100% daytime solar power generation. Through continued investment in solar infrastructure, renewable energy, and modern utility operations, KCEC remains committed to reliable service, local job creation, economic growth, and long-term energy sustainability for rural communities across northern New Mexico.β
