The Challenge
Our customer, a large flooring distributor, faced increasing complexity managing a diverse fleet of Zebra mobile computers across multiple warehouse locations. Their Kerridge IWMS system, powered through the Ivanti Velocity platform, required precise and consistent configuration to function correctly in high-paced environments. They had previously enlisted our help configuring an EHS Lockdown Kiosk mode for their devices, with which each device was provisioned manually, leaving room for inconsistent settings, variable security controls, and user-level errors—ultimately impacting performance and uptime on the warehouse floor.
Our Solution
To eliminate fragmentation and streamline operations, we deployed SOTI MobiControl to remotely and uniformly push their Velocity profile to all Zebra MC93 devices. This deployment was first configure to create fully kiosk-locked UI environment, restricting device use to only what’s essential for operations— their IWMS profile via Velocity and key system functions.
Through SOTI’s advanced lockdown and remote management capabilities, we provided our customer with an admin portal that allows their IT team to:
Push and edit Velocity configurations in real time
Take devices in and out of kiosk lockdown as needed for troubleshooting or testing
Customize user interface interactions and access levels based on job function and location
View device status, logs, and connectivity metrics across the entire fleet
The Results
The outcome was a uniform, zero-touch blanket deployment of their Kerridge IWMS Velocity environment, executed at scale. All Zebra MC93s were locked down in kiosk mode, eliminating distractions and non-essential app usage, which reduced user error and device abuse.
